Tax Office Closures for February

The Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector’s offices will be closed February 14 to February 16, on a rotating schedule for training.  While one office is closed, other office locations will be open regular business hours. The office closure schedule is as follows:  
• Tuesday, February 14 – Round Rock Tax Office, 1801 E. Old Settlers Blvd.
• Wednesday, February 15 – Georgetown Tax Office, 904 S. Main St.
• Thursday, February 16 – Cedar Park Tax Office, 350 Discovery Blvd., and Taylor Tax Office, 412 Vance Street.
For answers to many questions about property taxes or motor vehicle transactions, visit the County Tax Assessor-Collector’s website at www.wilco.org/tax or call 512-943-1601.  Tax Assessor-Collector offices hours and locations:
Georgetown Office, 904 S. Main St.

Burn Ban Lifted Feb. 14, 2017

Williamson County Judge Dan Gattis lifted the burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County today, Tuesday, February 14, 2017.  
Please be cautious with any outdoor burning activity.  Outdoor burning must be conducted under state regulations found in Texas Administrative Code Section 30 TAC 111.219.
Prior to conducting controlled burns, please take the following steps:
1. Please contact your local fire department – Some fire departments may require a burn permit.
2. Please contact Williamson County Communications – Please call and report your controlled burn to Williamson County Communications at 512-864-8282.  They can inform you of any burning restrictions that may exist.

Doug Woodall Selected as Road and Bridge Director

Doug Woodall P.E. has been selected to be the acting director of Williamson County’s Road and Bridge Division. 

Mr. Woodall retired from a distinguished 31-year career with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). After graduating from Texas Tech University, he began his engineering career in the TxDOT Midland Area Office. He later transferred to Austin where he held a variety of positions including the Design Division’s director of field coordination, the director of turnpike planning and development, and retired as the TxDOT Toll Operations Division Director.

He is a long time Round Rock resident. Doug and his wife of almost 30 years enjoy spending time supporting the activities of their daughter.

Randy Barker Named County Purchasing Agent

The Williamson County Commissioners Court selected Randy Barker as the new county purchasing agent. Mr. Barker most recently served as the general services director for the City of Hutto. During his tenure with the city, he also served as the purchasing manager and internal services manager. Prior to that, he was the purchasing manager for the City of Round Rock. His professional associations include being a member of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Texas Association of Public Purchasing, National Purchasing Institute, and International Supply Management.

Mr. Barker holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. He has been a Williamson County resident for the past 14 years.
