TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Sheriff’s deputies are searching for an elderly man with dementia who went missing on foot Sunday.

Antonio Barboa Perea, 87, went missing from his home in the 6900 block of Evelyn Road at about 6 a.m. Sunday, according to Travis County Emergency Services.

Officials say Perea is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and has brown hair and gray eyes. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and maroon pants.

Authorities are focusing their search around his home and an HEB store at I-35 and William Cannon that he often visits.

STARFlight spent part of Sunday searching for Perea and sheriff’s deputies continue their search. Authorities believe today’s heat poses a danger to the man.
