AUSTIN (KXAN) – Five University of Texas football players are off the team Friday. Hornsdigest.com and Orangebloods.com report the players were dismissed for a violation of team rules.

Senior running back Joe Bergeron, senior safety Josh Turner, redshirt sophomore running back Jalen Overstreet and redshirt freshman defensive back Chevoski Collins have been removed from the team for alleged violations of team rules.

Senior linebacker Kendall Thompson was removed from the team for medical reasons.

The University of Texas has not publicly confirmed the roster moves.

Thursday, Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander were dismissed from the team following their arrests on sexual assault charges.
