City councilmen got their first look at the rough draft of a proposed 2014-15 budget Thursday. It calls for little in the way of expansion and includes no pay raises for city staff and no additional staff positions, but also no increase in the current tax rate of 81.3893 cents per $100 valuation.
Finance Director Rosemarie Dennis told the council that the current rate would provide $4,741,160 for maintenance and operations during the coming fiscal year.
