Washington doesn’t merely lack the legal authority for a military intervention in Syria. It lacks the moral authority.

We’re talking about a government with a history of using chemical weapons against innocent people far more prolific and deadly than the mere accusations Assad faces from a trigger-happy Western military-industrial complex, bent on stifling further investigation before striking.

I had included several very graphic photos of the victims of these chemical attacks in the PolicyMic article linked above. I wanted for people to see just how horrifying Washington foreign policy and chemical weapons are and just how real these attacks were, just how real these victims were, these innocent human beings who were melted alive or had the life choked out of them by poisonous gas, these babies born with heart breaking birth defects because of what Washington politicians and their military are doing in the world.

PolicyMic kept some of the photos, but decided some were too graphic and replaced them. I think that’s perfectly fine and have no problem with them exercising that editorial prerogative, but I still did want to make the photos available to anyone who wants to see actual photos of the actual victims of these actual attacks that Washington actually carried out. So I decided to share them here. This is so real. And it needs to stop:

1. The U.S. Military Dumped 20 Million Gallons of Chemicals on Vietnam from 1962 – 1971

Result: rampant birth defects and cancer.

2. Israel Attacked Palestinian Civilians with White Phosphorus in 2008 – 2009

This is what a white phosphorus wound looks like. It melts human flesh right down to the bone. This is an actual victim of one of these Israeli white phosphorus attacks on Gaza, a 13 year old boy named Ayman al Najar who lost his sister, grandfather, and cousin in the attack. Here’s a video showing footage of his wounds and journalists interviewing him about the attacks.

3. Washington Attacked Iraqi Civilians with White Phosphorus in 2004

8. The U.S. Military Littered Iraq with Toxic Depleted Uranium in 2003

This is not necessary to keep you safe. This is not brave, nor honorable, nor praiseworthy. This is not good for the troops, their physical health, their mental health, or their souls. This is not pro life. This is not pro family. This is not national defense.
