I am in no way, shape, or form watching this clusterfuck, but
reading some comments I was reminded of something.

I was thinking of how we keep sending our five million dollar
techno warriors into Afghanistan to battle sheet wearing, cave
dwelling troglodytes and they keep sending useless corpses back. We
probably lose more money training elite soldiers to die than the
gross gdp of the country we’re sending them to.

Anyhow, it reminded me of a famous passage by Kipling when the
Brits were getting slaughtered in, you guessed it, Afghanistan by
dirt farmers and their oddly-shaped rifles:

A scrimmage in a border station
A canter down some dark defile
