Matthew McConaughey marries in Austin

AUSTIN (CNN/KXAN) – Bad news for the ladies: Austin’s most eligible bachelor is officially off the market.

Actor Matthew McConaughey tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend model Camila Alves at an intimate ceremony on Saturday. The couple wed before close friends and family at their estate in Austin.

The UT alum and Longhorn football supporter and his bride started dating in 2006 and have two children together. Last year, McConaughey, 42, said he had no immediate plans to get married.

“To do that, you have to really feel it. You have to really want to move forward to those things. Right now we are wonderfully happy, healthy. I get no pressure,” he told CNN’s Piers Morgan.

The pair got engaged in December.

McConaughey‘s agent told People Magazine that Camila had taken his surname and that she has officially become Camila McConaughey. According to media reports, about two-dozen guests were invited. McConaughey’s nine-acre estate was equipped with air conditioned tents for overnight guests.

London’s Daily Mail took pictures from a helicopter, showing the wedding party from far away. An official photo spread will appear in People magazine next week.
