New church food pantry open Thursday nights in Leander

LEANDER — RockPointe Church has announced the opening of its weekly food pantry located at  the corner of Crystal Falls Parkway and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

The pantry supports Williamson and Eastern Travis Counties and is open Thursday nights from 6:30 to 7:30p.m.

No identification or qualifications are necessary.

“The food pantry is a part of a 10-year initiative to engage and serve the community,” Director Alesha Tolbert said. 

Tolbert said she researched other food pantries in the area and felt there was a strong need for additional help in this area.

Monetary donation, may be made online at rockpointechurch.org or dropped off at the church office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Items needed include: canned meats and vegetables, cereals, pastas, rice, juices, baby food, peanut butter, jelly, boxed dinners and fruit cups. The pantry accepts any food item that does not need refrigeration.
